JOMATIK GmbH has found a way to use its 3D printers against the spread of Covid-19. The Tübingen-based company produces large quantities of parts for so-called spit protection masks.
"Above all, people who are in the front line of the battle against the novel corona virus must be given optimum protection, that is the opinion and motivation of the entire company," says JOMATIK Managing Director Johannes Matheis, CEO of JOMATIK. Due to the close interlocking of the company in the regional economy, JOMATIK was able to supply itself quickly and easily with add-on parts and is already delivering. After the initial order of 2,000 masks, the production of another 8,000 masks is already underway.
Founded in 2014 by Johannes Matheis, JOMATIK offers industrial 3D printing by laser-sintering. In this process polyamide powder is fused layer by layer by means of laser beams. The product range extends from individual single solutions to prototypes and industrial small series.
